We read every pitch that arrives. If you have a reported feature, a photo journal, or a column idea tied to a region we already cover, send the outline here and say which section it belongs to. For reader letters, corrections, or archive questions, use the same form and note it in the subject line.
Replies usually go out within three working days. Pitches that arrive without a region, a section, or a rough word count tend to sit longer, so include those if you can.
The magazine is run from a home office in Cape Town, so correspondence is read in batches rather than the moment it lands. Pitches, corrections and reader letters all arrive at the same inbox and are answered in the order they come in.

Most messages get an answer within five working days. Pitches that need a second reader can take longer, and you will hear either way. If a week passes with nothing in your inbox, send a short follow-up rather than a new thread.
The magazine runs on letters from readers as much as on commissioned work. If you have a story from your own town, a correction, a question about a recipe we printed, or a note about a walk you took after reading one of ours, send it through. A person reads every message, not a queue.
